Vinh Nguyen talks about
their new home

New Home
- Kim & Vinh Nguyen -

Vinh: We often go to the park for a picnic, when we're not too busy on the weekend, we go to the park and lie down, enjoy the fresh air and the kids can play there, and sometimes we go to the river and just see the water.

"We spend time along the river, we either go to Georges River, Mirrambeena, or we go further down to Picnic Point."
Vinh: We spend time along the river, we either go to Georges River, Mirrambeena, or we go further down to Picnic Point. Sometimes we go to Chipping Norton on the other side too - we quite like that big land there and the water too. We like to stay near the water; I think a lot of people do. It gives you some sense of freshness and cleanness.

We're not very, very good fisher people, but we did spend some time fishing once in Wollongong and a couple of times along Georges River here, in Chipping Norton Lake, just for fun.

Vinh: Over there [Vietnam] I would dream to have the space where I plant my clothes hoist to build a house, they would love it!

Vinh: I spend a few hours mowing the lawn in spring or in summer but I don't mind. One time we camped right in the backyard. Because on the weekend when I'm not working I like to walk around the property. I like space to move around in, I don't want to live in confined space. I like a sense of space and freedom, to be walking around, not confined by fences.

Kim: We're kind of going everywhere, just trying to explore the new places, each place we've been.

"I'm quite adventurous, I like to explore things. Sometimes my wife complains to me, the way I spend a holiday..."
Vinh: I'm quite adventurous, I like to explore things. Sometimes my wife complains to me, the way I spend a holiday and she's quite exhausted and tired because I drag them around the country. (Kim laughs) Every time we get a holiday, I put them in the car and off we went, I would be driving all day through all the forest, I love it!

I want one day to spend some time, over night, in the valley here in the Blue Mountains. Some people say it's quite exciting to see all the nocturnal animals walking around you looking for food, but I don't know if I can do that or not, because you know the family do not like my idea at all.
