Mandolin
'My parents were very sociable and liked music.
We always had parties.'*
The tradition of music is strong in Estonian
culture and immigrants to Australia brought
their love of music with them. This mandolin
was played by Ron Silm, whose parents settled
in the 1930s in the Estonian community at
Thirlmere, south-western Sydney.
