Tartu, second city of Estonia
Gunnar Neeme was commissioned to paint this picture on the walls of the Estonian Archives in Sydney in the 1980s. Tartu is the second oldest city in Estonia and is renowned for its university, one of the oldest in Europe. The university was founded by King Gustavus Aldolphus of Sweden in 1632.
