Apron woven 1953, Trebenista, Ohrid

Spasija wove this apron in 1953 as part of her dowry. The colours and pattern were popular for many decades in Trebenista, with the darker tones mainly worn by the older women of the village. The ties have been embroidered and decorated with beads and ric rac braid.

Height: 67 cm, width: 65 cm, loom width: 34 cm; Cotton warp, cotton and woollen weft.
