Project description
Over Easter 2001, the Uranquinty Progress Association (supported by Wagga Wagga Council, Premier’s Department and the MHC) hosted a celebration to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Uranquinty Migrant Hostel.
The Uranquinty Migrant Hostel provided accommodation for migrants and the partners and families of workers of projects such as the Snowy Mountains Scheme.
What did the project achieve?
A celebration of Australian migration heritage and recognition of the contributions of migrant men, women and children.
