Wattan – Redfern

Lebanese, Arab Australian Communities - Sydney

The Wattan project engaged initially with the Lebanese, and then more broadly Arabic, speaking communities in strategies to better document and represent their cultural heritage. In 2004 it culminated in the ‘Beirut to Baghdad: communities, collecting and culture’ exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum.
