Apron woven before 1940, Lavci, Bitola
Lent by Menka Dilevski
This special occasion apron is decorated with lace and a braided border, and has a subtle inlaid stripe design, which was complicated to weave. This is one of the aprons that Gjurga brought with her when she migrated to the Illawarra. She had worked hard to make it and it represented an important link with her Macedonian heritage.
