Apron woven 1948, Velusina, Bitola

Menka made this apron, which has an intricate weave of red, blue and green, for her wedding. She subsequently wore it for special occasions, including religious holidays, and dancing. In the first half of the 20th century, all the village women made their own clothes as buying readymade was too expensive.
