Apron woven 1947, Velusina, Bitola
Lent by Elena Trajcevska
Elena's mother-in-law, Aleksandra Trajcevska wove this apron in 1947 in the village of Velusina. Dark with subtle red and blue stripes, it was probably made to be worn everyday for working in the home and fields. Repeated washing and wearing has partially felted the cloth. The apron has tiny pleats at the waist.
Height: 57 cm, width: 66 cm, loom width: 29 cm; Cotton warp, woollen weft.
